Connecting Google Ads
Scarif One's Pilot engine reads your Google Ads account daily, pushes paused campaigns you plan in plain English, and feeds your real Shopify revenue back to Google's bidding. One connection powers all of it.
What you'll need
- A Google Ads account (the 10-digit customer ID is picked for you — no hunting)
- Two minutes
Connect
- Go to Settings → Integrations → Google Ads.
- Click Connect with Google and sign in with the Google account that can access your Google Ads account.
- Back in the modal, pick your ad account from the dropdown — manager (MCC) accounts are listed but greyed out; pick the ad account itself.
- Click Test connection. You should see your account name and currency confirmed live.
- Save.
The Google sign-in requests two permissions: Google Ads (reading performance, pushing paused campaigns, applying the fixes you approve) and Data Manager (uploading your real purchases as conversions so Google's bidding learns from truth). Both stay revocable at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
What happens next
- Every morning Pilot audits the account: miscast conversion goals, money-burning search terms, campaigns starved by budget, weak Quality Scores. Findings land in Marketing Engine → Recommendations with one-click Apply.
- Conversion truth starts flowing daily: your Shopify purchases upload to a "Scarif One — Shopify purchases (server)" conversion action. It's created as secondary so it observes without double-counting your existing GA4 import — promote it in Google Ads → Goals once you trust the feed.
- Campaign pushes become available on planner drafts: a full paused Search campaign (or Shopping, when Merchant Center is linked) in one click. Nothing ever goes live without you activating it in Google Ads.
Troubleshooting
- "Google sign-in has expired" — Google revokes tokens weekly while an OAuth app is in Testing mode. Reconnect in /integrations; if it keeps happening, publish your Google Cloud OAuth consent screen to Production.
- "Connection lacks the Data Manager scope" — you connected before the conversion-truth update. Reconnect once (Connect with Google again) and uploads activate.
- Restricted categories — alcohol, gambling and similar verticals get automatic policy guardrails: Customer Match is refused outright, and campaign pushes carry compliance warnings. That's Scarif protecting your account, not a bug.
